TEMPTATION - DAY TWO
Day 2 was a bit iffy with the weather. When we woke up, It was windy and cloudy and a bit cool out. We made our way down to breakfast very nonchalantly. We enjoyed all the deliciousness and mimosas one can consume for breakfast. Lol. The weather eventually cleared up enough so we made our way to the pool.
Our spot in the pool area was on the far side opposite of the Playmakers. They truly did a great job of keeping the pool energy up and getting others to participate in the daily games. Participating in games like that isn't really my thing. Especially in front of people I don't know. Then again, I'm sure that's the whole point to it. Lol. Maybe one day I'll break out of my shell a bit more. Anyways, we partied good that afternoon. Once the sunshine came out, it made the day so much better. Although the wind was still around with scattered cloud burts but truthfully, at some point I was looking forward to the clouds so we could cool off from the heat for a few seconds.
After drinking pool side for a bunch of hours, it
was time to eat something and then nap.
Sunday night's theme was Rodeo night. I wasn't really sure what the party nights were going to be like, so I was a bit nervous or uneasy you could say. We got dressed in theme and headed down to the upper deck where the festivities were. The setup was really nice. In the center of the party space is the stage. On one side of the stage is a bar. On the other side is a night buffet. On the back side, there are VIP booths. That particular night was a tad wet due to the scattered showers that were happening. Maybe thats why there wasnt a strong turn out. We ended up taking over a reserved table close to the stage. We got a few drinks and people watched. When the show ends, everyone is invited up on the stage to dance and get "wild" but it wasn't anything thrilling or exciting where we felt the need have to stay so we ended up making our way back to the room, calling it a night.
It was a really easy, low-key kind of day. I found that most days were like this.
As you'll read, things became very repetitious. After a few days, I was like, oh my gosh, this needs to change a bit. I started getting a little stir crazy.
TEMPTATION - DAY THREE
Day 3 started at the coffee place, just like every day did. I would wake up early, go downstairs and I would have them make me a cappuccino. Generally I drink black coffee, but if we're out and about somewhere, I always get a cappuccino. Lattes sometimes, but more so cappuccino, because I don't know how to make them at home.
The coffee place is all inclusive so
I was able to get around the clock coffee which was fantastic. Anyways, we went down, got our coffee and little treat. Spencer fell in love with the donuts they were serving. Once we were back to our room we ordered breakfast from room service.
I have to say, I thoroughly enjoyed having the room service. When we travel, room service is hardly available, so to be at a location where it's all included, OMG! To order whenever I wanted just seemed so amazing. And we really capitalized on it. At all hours we'd order. The nights we were napping before the party, that turned into all night long sleeps, we'd wake up around 2am and order a ton of room service. This part I don't recommend. LMAO. The amount of weight gained on the trip was ridiculous. But, you only live once. So live up the room service!
After we finished breakfast, we made our way down to the pool area, and thankfully or luckily, one of the cabanas was open. That was such an awesome experience simply because when you go to different pools or venues and see the cabanas, you're like, oh my God, I would love to be one of those people sitting in the cabana. Haha. That's me anyways. We chilled there most of the day. The weather was absolutely amazing. The sun was shining so bright so it was nice to have some shade from the cabana. Drinking mimosas in the sunshine is the best. So refreshing and light.
Sometime late in the afternoon, we ventured up to the rooftop, and we were going to hang out up there the rest of the day. There is a pool and a bar up top along with some seating for food and then seating all around the top deck. Changing the scenery sounded like a great thing to do. By the time we got up there it was so windy.
There was no way that we were going to be able to hang out up there and just chill without feeling uncomfortable or constantly chasing our cups. We ended up going back down stairs but didn't make it down to the cabana. We ended up going back to our room just hung out for a while. A little down time inbetween drinking to rehydrate and rest was needed every day. From there, I don't really know what happened. Since I don't have many photos maybe we ended up napping through the night because we certainly didn't get dressed for the theme night. I don't even know what it was. We must have had a really great day that day because that's where day 3 ended. No photos of anything after that, so I have to imagine it was a spectacular day.
TEMPTATION - DAY 4 - ADVENTURE AWAITS
Day 4 was absolutely fucking awesome. I love Spencer so much because he knows
that I really need some sort of adventure. I love hanging out and I do love the downtime and I do love chilling but there's only a certain amount of days that I can do that before I start going bananas. So on day 4, we went down for coffee and he proposed a walk. At that point, I was feeling like we haven't adventured out anywhere. We were strictly at the resort. You know, it's the same 4 walls, the same pool, the same activities going on for the day. So when he proposed the walk. I was like fuck yeah, let's absolutely go on adventure!
Our route was walking out the front door, taking a right. We did a huge loop around all the hotels. We made it down to the mall and swooped around, making our way to the beach. We followed the beach line all the way back to the resort. It turns out, we walked 5 miles that morning. Walking sooths my soul so much. I loved that it was morning time. It was quiet, adventurous, and It was just he and I. It was spectacular. I love seeing different surroundings. You know, it's so not like home, so to see how they build the buildings, to see how they live, to see the environment, the culture. I love that sort of thing.
By the time we got back, we got changed and went to the pool and hung out most of the day until it was time to get ready for dinner.
We went to She, which is supposed to be a sensual aphrodisiac type dinner where they serve you foods that are supposed to
get you in the mood to be frisky. In addition to dinner, there's a sensual show going on. I thought that it was very simple and elegant and the performers did a good job. There were 3 individuals - one male, two females. There was sensual pole dancing and sensual interacting with one another. It was nice to watch, but I feel the dancers could have stepped things up a notch. It wasn't so captivating for me. Something was missing from the performances, but it was still a really great experience.
As far as the food goes, the waiter said - let me bring one of everything on the menu. Then you can try it all. Literally, there's only like 2 options of appetizers, main meal and dessert. Something like that. So that's what we did. Except with our main meal. The portions are a bit small, so if you're a hungry individual, you might have to eat a little something after.
For me, it was really nice tasting the different options because there were things that I wouldn't normally order like the shrimp dish and bean soup that was out of this world. The steak was unbelievable. Everything from start to finish with the meal was absolutely delicious.
We finished our dinner and it felt a little to leave. Like it was an in and out thing. They really get you in 1 hour rotations. So our dinner, I think was over by 8pm. We waited outside for our friends to finish up with their meal, which we learned afterwards that they asked for more food because it just wasnt enough. Lol. While waiting, we met a really lovely couple at the bar. This was probably the first time we really sat and interacted with anybody for a long period of time. They were super funny, very outgoing. We laughed a ton while enjoying our drinks. It was a great way to unwind and regroup for the next phase of the night, which was Burning Man or Land. I can't remember. I personally feel this was the only night that we actually really got dressed and stayed down at the party.
I think that it fits more with our personalities. Theres dark clothing and a fiercer attitude feel. We danced, we drank and watched the show which was absolutely sensational. They had fire girls doing different performances along with different dances presentations. It was captivating for sure!
TEMPTATION - DAY 5 - THE STORM IS BREWING
Day 5 ... OMG the storm was brewing!! We knew that there was a hurricane passing through some of the other Islands, and we were getting the tail end of it. That's why it was so windy and cloudy the entire week. But by the time day 5 came this fucking storm came through and goodness .... the wind was strong. I was really impressed with the staff at Temptation because they really sprinted into storm mode super fast. There is a huge Temptation sign on wheels on the roof. We watched them hustling to get that sign brought inward. At the same time, they were watching the furnitute on balconies to see which rooms they needed pack up . It turns out that our friends had the level above us and their balcony was one that surrounded the entire corner of the hotel. They had outdoor furniture and they also had an outdoor bar that the resort kept stocked the entire trip. The wind was so intense that it blew all the glass liquor bottles off the bar and smashed to the ground. We decided to wait for the storm to pass to fix things, so we went down for breakfast. Of course I decided to sieze the day and dance in the rain.
Spencer snapped some photos of me just doing my thing, being silly. I was enjoying the moment of pure freedom. Although it was stinky that the day was kind of ruined from this storm, we still made the best of it and had a great time.
The Temptation staff did such a great job. At one point, the water was coming down so heavily, the staff was squeegeing the water off the top deck so it didnt flow into the main lobby area and I just thought that that was spectacular.
Our day ended up in our friend's room who had a hot tub. We were drinking, laughing having a good ole' time most of the afternoon. It was a great change of scenery for the day.
Oh, but wait a minute! Before that, we actually went to the spa. We had couples massages booked with the help of our butlers.
Oh my God, such a relaxing experience. It was an hour and a half long with a mini facial included. I can't believe I almost forgot about this!
By the time we went back up to our friends room for the hot tub, the staff had already cleaned up the glass and placed the furniture back where it belonged on the balcony.
Overall, it was a fun day. I really enjoyed being in the hot tub and being in a different environment for most of the day. Again, I'm not sure how this day ends because I have no photos to tell the tail.
TEMPTATION - DAY 6 - ZOOOOMMMMMM
Day 6 came and again, Spencer and I were looking for some adventure. We usually always wake up earlier than our friends so we ended up saying, you know what, let's go out on another walk. Spencer really wanted to go on those electric scooters and boy was I freaking nervous about it. I wasn't quite sure about them. Me and my ridiculous happenings. Anything was possible. So we stayed with walking. When we came out of the resort, we made a left this time and we walked way down until we hit a mini town. It was a strange place. The outskirts were little shops and hotels. Behind that was a deserted area that looked like an old shopping center. It didn't really feel like the place we should be hanging out so we quickly got out of there. That walk was 5 miles in that one direction. It was beginning to get rather warm out so I was not enthusiastic about another 5 miles back. At that time we hopped on scooters and booked it back to the hotel. We had the best freaking time.
It was exhilarating. I was zooming all over the place. LOL When I first got on the scooter, I was definitely apprehensive and a tad bit nervous. But after I got the flow of it and really got into the rhythm of how they work, I was able to cruise along. I could not wait to try it again.
By the time we got back, we found our friends down by the pool and started phase two of this glorious day. It was extra special because the bar was making these delicious coconut drinks straight out of the coconut! My girlfriend and I ended up getting a few of these coconut drinks and we were completely waisted most of the afternoon. I mean, like, white girl wasted having such a great time. I think this was the 1st day that we actually ended up getting a little frisky with one another. We really enjoyed that sunshine. It was the exact kind of day I would imagine for sunshine vacation kind of place.
We literally had the grandest time ever. We laughed so hard and had so much fun. It's one of those days that you wish that you could play over and over again, because it was that good, but you could never ever get a replica of it because it was that good.
After spending so much time in the sun, we went back to our rooms to nap a little bit before hibachi dinner.
The start of dinner was a bit hectic because someone messed up our reservations. We weren't at the hibachi table like we reserved. We ended up sitting at a regular table but still enjoyed the experience. The food was amazing and the service was really great. The presentation was awesome and again, since it's all inclusive you can order so many different options to try so many different things.
I will say after dinner was over, we were very tired and I don't think that we even attempted the party that night which was probably for the best because we did drink a ton that day.
Turns out, in the middle of the night, whether it was from drinking too much whether it was mixing the lexapro and so many drinks, something that I ate or a combination of all of it, I'm not really sure but my belly got really uncomfortable and I ended up going in the shower for 2 hours. I don't know about you, but when I don't feel good, my first thought is okay, I gotta go in the shower because this will make me feel better.
So I ended up sleeping in there for about 2 hours and was able to get myself to a comfortable place per se and made my way back into bed. I did end going to sleep for a few hours towards the early morning.
TEMPTATION - DAY 7 - ROCKY WATERS
I feel really terrible because Friday, on day 7, we were supposed to do the boobs cruise over to that island around 10am.
930 came and I was still sleeping and I semi woke up to hearing Spencer on the phone with our friends saying "she got really sick in the middle of the night, she's still sleeping. I don't really think we're gonna make it right now." Immediately my heart felt really bad because it was my girlfriend's birthday. That was why we were there celebrating. And here I went and just fucked up this entire day. But, there was no way I was getting on a boat at that point in time, certainly not going to party, that's for sure. I was feeling really queasy so I was really happy that he had my back in that moment and made the decision that this was not the best thing for me and that I needed to sleep a little bit more. Which I did. I ended up maybe sleeping until about 12 o'clock.
By the time I woke up I did feel a little bit better, but you know, you don't feel so good because you just spent the night throwing up and my anxiety running wild from all the thoughts running through my head.
We did end up making plans to go over to that island, but we went independently. We took the ferry over, which was such a beautiful ride. The water was sensational. The boat itself was remarkable. I mean, super clean and wonderful with professionally dressed crew members. Like out of a movie.
As soon as we hit the island, we rented a golf cart, cruising around the entire place. We laughed and joked. We were our was silly selves making the best of the day. I don't know that it was as adventurous as I was expecting. For me, I want to see the history. I want to learn something. Warp back in time. Don't get me wrong, the island was awesome. It had personality and was alive and was so colorful.
When we got back, it was time to get ready for dinner at the Italian restaurant. Oh my goodness, gracious, everything that was served was a dance party on my taste buds. I'm really happy that my friend had the opportunity to enjoy her birthday and have the things that she wanted. And again, as you can imagine, we were really tired so we didn't end up going to the party that night either.
I think, for me, with the parties, if we were there for maybe 4 days and only had 3 nights of parties, it's so much easier to get into theme and want to go. But to be there almost 8 full days and 7 nights of partying and partying all in between, it's too much. Especially because it was pretty repetitious with small changes in between. So not going to the night time parties really wasn't a big deal for me because we drank and partied and laughed so much during the day, I didn't really feel the need to put on a different outfit to go and do it all over again. Not to mention, my clothes weren't really fitting any more. Which means I ate and drank a ton that week! I think most of us felt that way too.
TEMPTATION- DAY 8 - THE FINAL HURRAH
By the time day 8 came, which was our travel day, Spencer really wanted to go on the scooters one more time. We woke up early and cruised around just he and I. It was our final "adventurous" tour together. We cruised around for about a half hour then went to the pool for our last hurrah.
Once again, I got wasted at the pool and you know what ... I literally had the best time just Spencer and I just chilling in the sun. We were laughing, talking, regrouping, reconnecting, reminiscing over the week. It was the perfect way to end this trip just me and my man loving each other while soaking up the sun. That was the best way the trip could have ended. It just felt very special between the two of us.
Eventually it was time to leave with our car service dropping us at the airport. Prior to the flight, I did not take any valium or anything. I said to myself, "I can do this, I am not going to have any anxiety. It's gonna be great." Well, that was a lie. By the time the flight started, I was still awake. It was a smaller plane. It wasn't full by any means, but it was fucking hot as hell. I felt like I was suffocating.I was getting so agitated and uncomfortable. I was getting very antsy and I started to really freak out. I almost felt like I was going to start hyperventilating very soon, so I did take a very small piece of Valium. Enough to make me fall asleep for the remainder of the trip. That worked perfectly.
I have to remember that it's okay to take something before we're going to go on a flight so I don't get to that point of getting super worked up and anxiety filled. The tools are in place for me to be able to use them and not abuse them. I want to make sure that it's very clear .... I only take the medication when it's absolutely necessary. And by the time I feel like it's absolutely necessary I'm already in a spiral. Each day I'm working on getting stronger.
Our flight landed rather late so we weren't back in our driveway until maybe like 11:30 PM on Saturday night.
Sunday was a super chill day. We stopped at Spencer's parents' house for a short minute to tell them that we were home and briefed them on our trip. The rest of the day was just he and I at home, snuggling with our pups before we had to get back into the mix of the work day.
In conclusion, I would say that we did have a remarkable time. I came home feeling relaxed and in a much better headspace then before vacation. It definitely was too many days. I would recommend to anybody visiting Temptation to think about the time period that you're there and whether or not you're a really adventurous person, or you really can chill and do the same thing for 7 plus days.
The other thing is when you're going to pool, arrive super early allocating your spots with towels. We noticed many used fancy towel clips to keep your towel from blowing away. Go down to the pool early and reserve your spot. Nobody fucks with any of your stuff.
There is also the agenda of the day written on the wall by the pool so you know exactly when the pool activities are going to start, what the theme night is and what the general lay of the land will be for the day.
You will have the same waiters for the most part throughout your stay. Definitely get to know them. Tip them well. Treat them well, because they really go above and beyond making you feel comfortable and happy. For me, that was probably my favorite part of the trip, the waitstaff. There were a few guys that took care of us the entire week. We would laugh with them and had a grand old time every time we saw them. By the time the week was over, I was hugging and kissing all of them goodbye.
