75 Day Challenge - Day 2 Check In

Yesterday was a such a great day. I had great balance with a few zig zags. I started the day getting my steps in on my walking pad, just like every other morning. I usually tackle 90 minutes as I get my work day started and organized. I feel so accomplished when I hit all my rings on my watch. LOL So why not add this to my 75 Hard daily routine, tacking my first 30 minute workout of the day.

I was supposed to go to Pilates after work, but Spencer's parents invited us to dinner at one of our local restaurants so I shifted my plans a bit. Of course that jammed me up because I'm only on day 2 of the 75 Day Challenge and we are already eating out. In addition to that, I don't like stacking my day with so much stuff. I know, I know, Pilates and dinner isn't so much, but for me it is so I canceled my class, setting my intention to workout after dinner to help my digestion.

Since I shifted my afternoon, after work was over, I made a cup of coffee and snuggled with my pup and blanket while reading. OMG, when I get on a roll, I can read and read and read. In about and hour and half I read half the book. I get so lost in the story. I love it, because for a short while I am somewhere else and not in my own head. At this rate, I will tackle my goal of reading 8 books this year in no time.

Side Note - I was asked this morning what my main goal was with completing the 75 Hard Challenge. My response was being consistent in my mind, body and soul. I know that we have spoken about body image a lot lately, but for me, this is more than that. This is setting healthy routines, disconnecting from social media more, becoming present at all times and really pushing forward to build my brand in a way that feels healthy and organic. I think that sums it up without word spewing everywhere.

75 Hard Meal Plan:

My 75 day challenge meal planning is going pretty well so far. Yesterday I stayed on track with my morning oatmeal, grapes for snack and for lunch I had leftover spaghetti and broccoli from the night before. I was feeling full and satisfied through the day with no real cravings.

Come dinner time, whenever we eat out, I always look at the menu ahead of time. I like to mentally prepare. I like to the know the ambiance so I know how to dress and I like to wrap my head around my meals for the day overall. Last night I chose a fried chicken salad with pickled onions, roasted corn and candied walnuts with a balsamic dressing on the side. I also indulged by eating to jalapeno poppers and one boneless Buffao chicken bite during appetizers. Everything in moderation and balance. To avoid alcohol, I order hot tea. I am not a fan of drinking the water served and I hardly ever drink soda so hot tea always feels like something a bit special. LOL

PROGRESS UPDATE FOR THE 75 DAY CHALLENGE

Drink 1 gallon of water a day

Yes! I did it. I also drank 4 cups of coffee and 3 cups of hot tea

Exercise for 30 minutes a day, twice a day

Final step count: 14,421. I followed through with 30 minutes of stretching and weights after dinner

Read for 30 minutes

Totally hit that mark!

Follow any "diet"

Even with eating out, I didn't overeat. I stayed within my calories, but no deficit. It was just about a break even from my exercise calories.
